The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it can be alarmed in regards to the higher amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The support position designed for intervention activities a significant inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for your office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more means to help the servicing of all shoppers and enhance entry to SRD Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
